“There is no better way to start a week than to discover that one of your recipes made it into the @the.independent over the weekend… “

I wrote that on an Instagram post after checking GoogleAlerts and seeing my name up top!

Last month, we were celebrating #SandwichWeek and mine was the main pic of the article… hee hee. Happy was an understatement.

First Food & Drinks Award!!!

So, now Miss Nang Treats is an award winning brand of gourmet nuts & Seeds. Whoop Whoop.

And has been recognised as Most inclusive Luxury Nuts & Seeds Brand – UK by Lux Life Food & Drink Awards 2020 – I made a reaction video, check it on the IGTV.

Winning such a title is really such an honour because Miss Nang intentionally set out to be a unifier: Creating plant based snacks that would be suitable for most diets to allow people to be more convivial and share their latest foodies’ finds. It seems the brand is achieving that.

The original inspiration was my love for nuts and the many ways I could make them interesting. 5-6 years ago when I started to scratch the surface, vegan snacks had weird names and ingredients. They were plain and often smell funny. This meant that a flexitarian for example might not want to share a kind offer from a vegan.

I found the food industry too devided with every diets in their own section, which means that many miss out on even seeing the great stuff.

UNITY: I created Miss Nang Treats so I could share my snacks with anyone around me: vegan, gluten-free, kosher, Keto etc… I didn’t want to leave anyone out or send them into a special shopping section to get their snacks.

ACCESSIBILITY: I also wanted to create something that people could pronounce and recognise all the ingredients of. This meant they’d be confident that there were no additive, colouring or refined hidden component in what they were eating.

MADE in UK: With Miss Nang Treats, I also tried as much as possible to include some ingredients cultivated in the UK, like sea salts or lavender.

Being recognised as inclusive of all the above is a really significant win and makes me excited for the future of this little enterprise.

Thank you to all the tasters and the first ever customers and to the people who gave me random ingredients to try and create with. I APPRECIATE YOU!

This award belongs to you too.

Much love.
